Yah thats right NESp Version 2.0! It has advantages over the V1 series because it is much easier (or should be) to make and is more compact.
Some of the things I changed was that I removed the VCR like loading mechanism for the Cart. This allowed me slim the portable down a good amount and reduced the complexity of the build. Also, you do not get the annoying blue screen every time to insert a cart like the original NES does. I then removed the brightness buttons from the design since I never used them on the first NESp (with the LED modded screen they don't do much anyways).

The console that started it all. The original NES brought gaming back from the brink of the 1983 Video Game crash.

As always a sketch of the idea before I model it.

Since modeling the insides with the Atari 2600 portable, I decided to dump Sketch up and just stick with Lightwave for everything. With the Loading mechanism gone, a good 1 inch was shaved from the total height of the portable and about 1/4 of an inch off the thickness.

I decided to get a bit fancy with the render by scanning my NESp V1.2's case into Lightwave so that the wood looks more realistic. I scanned the NES Zelda Cart as well.
