This is a quick guide on how to correctly lift a through hole chip leg without having to mess with a desoldering iron. It basically involves cutting the leg really close to the board and pulling it upward. You will need some small clippers or some kind to clip the leg cleanly.
Make sure not to pull to much on that leg after you solder to it.
